Executive Director of the
American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology

The Executive Director (ED) of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (ABOMP) provides strategic leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of the dental specialty certifying Board.  Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for day-to-day administrative operation and implementing Board policies, managing certification and recertification processes, and overseeing administrative functions.  This role acts as the primary liaison between the Board, candidates, diplomates, and external stakeholders, including dental associations and regulatory bodies.  Key responsibilities include managing the examination cycle, maintaining database integrity, and achieving organizational goals.  A successful candidate will demonstrate strong executive leadership, financial acumen, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of dental specialty certification.

Minimum Education Required:  A minimum of an accredited four-year college or university degree, preferably with some legal and/or administrative and/or management components.

Skills Required:  Applicants must be skilled in verbal and written communications, planning, computer software, prioritizing and executing deadlines without need for supervision.  Applicants must be highly professional, well-organized and self-motivated.  Senior non-profit management experience preferred.

Hours and Location:  Part-time,  40 hours every two weeks.  Work location at discretion of applicant; however, occasional trips to Tampa, Florida and other locations as required for Board meetings.

Compensation:  Commensurate with experience.  All travel expenses reimbursed.
